Description
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE: Directed by Carole Carr
"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife."
Experience Jane Austen's classic tale of hate to love, revitalised in this production full of laughter, colour, and life.
When it comes to the subject of marriage, headstrong Elizabeth Bennet is determined to resist the mounting pressures and expectations from society.
Amidst the glittering swirl of balls, gossip and the hypocrisy of Regency England, Elizabeth encounters the arrogant, aloof, but infuriatingly eligible Mr Darcy. The two are more alike than they care to admit and their tempestuous journey from “tolerable” to love triumphant is one of literature’s most iconic romances.
Austen’s marvellous love story is brought dazzlingly to life in this delightful stage adaptation by Andrew Davies, author of the iconic 1995 BBC TV adaptation.
If you love Netflix's Bridgerton, you simply cannot miss this!
Reviews
Stage Struck - Rick Bowen
“Carole Carr’s production is perfectly pitched at a theatre that has struck the perfect balance between new stuff and the classics. Highly recommended.”
