Izzy (Valerie Isabel) Dempsey

Izzy was an invaluable volunteer member of the Front of House team, which she joined in 2011. She quickly learnt the ropes of the role : usher, ticket collector and programme seller.

In 2014, despite poor health, she started running the kiosk in conjunction with Eileen Smith, following the retirement of Brian Moore. This is a vital role, especially in Panto season when the sales of ice cream absolutely rocket. Later, she and Eileen even redecorated the kiosk.

With her excellent organisational skills, in 2018/19 Izzy began managing the merchandise stand during the Pantomime (see picture) and, in 2023 (following the Covid lockdowns), set up the very successful and revamped coffee bar.

Never complaining, and always positive, Izzy was fun loving and compassionate with a wonderful sense of humour - absolutely nothing was too much trouble.
