Florian Zeller’s The Son completes a trilogy with The Mother and The Father (produced

at Altrincham Garrick Playhouse in 2024), all of which are translated by Christopher Hampton. The Son premiered at the Kiln Theatre, London, in February 2019, and transferred to the Duke of York’s Theatre in August. A film version, directed by Zeller 

himself, and starring Hugh Jackman, Vanessa Kirkby and Anthony Hopkins, was produced in 2022.
